A Magical Backdrop for Photography

Lavender blooms are not the same from year to year. Typically, our lavender blooms from late June through the beginning of August. Each cultivar blooms at different times and is harvested throughout the season. Our small vineyard is beautiful all summer. Evenings are the most spectacular time for photographing people in the lavender.

We do not provide a photographer, but we can recommend one. Sessions include the use of the farm for photography sessions with a professional or semi-professional photographer. Photographers are welcome to inquire about booking mini-sessions.

Because the lavender season is short (approximately six weeks long), spaces are limited, so be sure to book your session early.

What to Know About Our Farm for a Successful Photoshoot

Relationships matter to us, and we enjoy sharing our lavender fields and gardens with local photographers. Share your photos with us to support these talented entrepreneurs. We would love for you to share and tag McLeod’s Lavender on Facebook and Instagram @mcleodslavender.

We want your shoot to be relaxing, not stressful. Please be on time for your reserved time. If you are late, you cannot run over your reservation time as other activities may be scheduled. You will be charged for any time beyond your scheduled session.

Please request the use of a pop-up tent for an additional $10 for your photo session if you would like a space to change your outfits. We do not have private space near the field. Our home is not available for use at this time. You may also cut bundles of lavender for $5 for each handful.

Please remain on the pathways and be gentle with our lavender. You may venture to other parts of the farm; we have some fun spaces for nature shots. Some things to keep in mind, though:

We are located on a beautiful hillside, so some parts of the farm are steep to walk.

This is Oregon, so you may encounter poison oak beyond the lavender field.

This is a farm, so it can be dusty, and your shoes may get dirty.

Dogs are welcome if they can be gentle around the lavender and gardens (we love dogs!) Please keep your dog on a leash (we have goats) and clean up after them.

Children must be supervised at all times; we have a pond and electric fences—safety first!

It can be fun to have props, like your favorite chair. Please bring them and set them up during your scheduled session. As you stage them, be gentle with the lavender. It takes years for our lavender to grow big and strong.

Reservation Details

Reservations may include up to 2 photographers and one family or small group (3-6 individuals). If you wish to photograph a wedding or a larger group, please call (360) 440-3601 to discuss a schedule and pricing. Our farm is small, and we want to accommodate you and your guests.

Photographers who are booking mini-sessions must coordinate the schedule with their clients to be able to meet them in the parking lot. McLeod’s Lavender is not responsible for greeting or supervising clients. Photographers may arrive 15 minutes early to prepare and check lighting requirements.

Your respect for us and our property is greatly appreciated. We have the right to ask you to leave or refuse future bookings if you disregard our expectations for a successful visit.
